The dive (L'immersione)
di Carmelo Consoli It was a call of deep abysses, variation of green currents in blue walls, black of the seabed that diving by light fins into the sea maternal anxiety as far as the earth became a mystery of creatures, pressure of liquid worlds; wrapping in tenuous play of light of the sun into the waves, in the dazzling coral's embrace. It was like returning to the light womb of life through secret harmonies, water transparencies, in sea-fans dances, in the quivering mouths of avid sponges. Abandonment to the amazement of big-eyed fish, mix with liveries and caresses in pirouettes parties, cradles of silence. That slow descending mutation from skin to scales was all in a breath. The swimmer went to meet the heart of the sea thanks to movements, flicks, somersaults, into ravines and caves. He covered himself with starfish, smiled at the submerged iris of the coasts in the joyful wandering of gills and tides. |
L'immersione
